As a regular climber this is a great centre. After doing a learn to lead course almost a year ago I joined the weekly women’s club and have been going ever since. Alicjia (who’s runs the club) always has new ideas to improve our climbing and it’s a really supportive, welcoming environment - perfect for making friends if you don’t have a climbing partner. Or if you do have a climbing partner and just want to make more friends!
My daughter who just 6 years old and I were first time climbing on Saturday. It was so exciting. It was very good challenge experience in my life. Both of us were enjoyed too much and my daughter wants to go again soon.
My friend and I attended a 90 minute Adult Intro to Climbing session today and had an absolute blast! Lewis was our instructor and took us through the various stages of climbing. You start off pretty easy and progress quickly. You can go as high, or as low, as you want. It’s daunting at first but you get the hang of it quick. You get shown the basics of climbing, and go on a few different sections. Harnesses and shoes are included, and after the session, you can use the bouldering sections if you do a quick test at reception too! Well worth the money. It’s great for couples and friends. As the session was in a small group, you could probably go on your own too, and meet new people. There were literally people there of all ages. The cafe looked nice too and seemed well equipped. I will definitely be going again to learn the next stages of climbing! More
I came here from a friend's recommendation and was not disappointed! I signed up for the adult intro to climbing and ended up being the only person in the group which was great - the place was still lively with independent climbers and the instructor was able to go in depth and give a lot of great tips. I wish I remembered her name but the girl with the curly hair who also worked the café was the best!! Thanks for making it fun and challenging - 10/10 employee. If I had discovered this place sooner definitely would have come back but I didn't make it over until the end of my visit to the UK. Even the building is impressive: it is inside of a church and has many walls (changed monthly) to choose from plus training areas and bouldering. Definitely check it out! More
The climbing facilities are excellent for all experience levels and also cater for boldering in a couple of areas as well as beginners into lead climbing. As an independent session there is Yoga offered on Tuesdays which was a friendly and inviting session with a mindful lead and pleasant group. The staff a friendly, knowledgeable and always on hand keeping an eye and offering support and conversation to those that want it. Music is played at an audiable level that’s not obnoxious so there is a good atmosphere, and the other climbers are, well climbers... friendly and cool!
Having had a 20 yr break from climbing I approached my intro session with trepidation! No need to fear, our 1hr 1/2 session with Adam was amazing. He was super patient, encouraging and the right side of challenging. I came away from the climb with a renewed sense of confidence in my physical abilities which, as a mum pushing 40, is no easy win. I heartily recommend giving the centre a go: there is something to challenge everyone and the atmosphere is welcoming and not too intimidating for novices.
Party for our 8 year old daughter. Really well done with instructors who made it both fun and challenging for the kids. Included some warm up games, traversing, climbing with ropes, auto-belay and finishing with bouldering games. We hired a room for afterwards for food, drink, cake and music/dancing. Highly recommended!
Attended the introduction class, after the safety briefing we got straight the wall. No time wasted, learned alot. Our instructor San was great.
