How can we cater for your needs...
Our instructors have experience of working with groups with a wide range of additional needs.
Sessions can be tailored to the needs of the group and instructors have a range of techniques to include climbers of all abilities. Climbing can aid the development of co-ordination and motor skills, as well as giving individuals achievable goals.
For most individuals with restrictions in their movement , our assisted hoist system is available. This is set up in our abseil tower and gives people a sense of the height and exposure that is experienced through climbing.
We are currently working on the NICAS scheme with a group of visually impaired adults from Galloways Society for the Blind. Galloways have transposed the NICAS handbook onto CD, and we hope this will lead to more visually impaired people achieving great things through climbing!
Manchester Climbing Centre has full wheelchair access to the building and disabled toilets.
