Recommended Kit List

For all of our outdoor courses we will provide all the necessary climbing equipment. If you have your own climbing shoes, harness or other personal kit you are welcome to use them, but we will provide these if needed. Please make sure you let your instructor know before you leave the centre in the morning if you need any personal climbing equipment.

However, the following is a list of kit that we recommend you bring with you on all outdoor courses. You will need to bring the following despite what the weather may appear to be when you leave the house!

  • Waterproof jacket and trousers
  • Rucksack
  • Warm trousers – jeans are not recommended as they become very uncomfortable, cold and heavy when wet. This is not ideal for climbing.
  • At least one warm jumper or fleece
  • A long sleeved thermal layer
  • Warm socks
  • Sun cream
  • Insect Repellent
  • Flask of drink to suit the weather
  • Snacks for the day
  • Packed lunch
  • Sensible shoes for walking to the crag

We recommend that you bring all the above. In warmer weather you may wish to add a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. If the weather looks wet a spare change of clothes may be advisable for the journey home. It is up to you to make sure you are prepared for your course!

Please ask us if you have any questions!
