Climbing

MCC hosts 75 climbing lines, which are a mixture of top roped and lead lines. Our main lead wall is an impressive 20 marketing picturemeters high – one of the biggest lead walls in the UK. Surrounding this are a wide range of others fantastic lead walls and a large number of top ropes, ranging in grade from 3+ to 8a.

There are routes to test the hardest of climbers, alongside much easer routes for those who are not quite rock gods yet! The majority of our courses are run on top roped climbs, so there is something for complete beginners too. We re-set all our routes regularly to make sure there is always something new to try.

Our climbing hall is in the main area of our stunning converted Victorian church, and is a great place to climb, meet new people and socialise. Overlooking the climbing is a mezzanine housing the Outside shop and Rocks Cafe, so you can have a coffee and a cake and watch the action after our climb!

If you’ve not climbed before or would like to improve your climbing, our range of courses have something to suit everyone.
