Lectures & Masterclasses
Johnny Dawes, John Dunne & Andy Kirkpatrick at Manchester Climbing Centre
Here at Manchester Climbing Centre we know you want more than just a climbing centre, so this Autumn we will be hosting a number of lectures and masterclasses from some of the countries top climbers and speakers.
Kicking off is the awesome Johnny Dawes! Johnny will be offering two limited-space climbing masterclasses followed by a lecture based around his new book on Thursday the 13th of October. Johnny is a renowned British climber, with a host of significant first ascents to his name, but also a great reputation for his flamboyant behaviour, as well as his climbing prowess. A masterclass from Johnny Dawes is not to be missed!
Manchester Climbing Centre owner John Dunne, who is no slouch himself with first ascents including New Statesman at Ilkley, Partheon Shot at Burbage South and Total Eclipse at Malham Cove, will be offering a Masterclass to Manchester Climbing Centre members on Thursday the 20th of October. The session will be a movement and technique class, aimed at improver climbers looking to push the next grade barrier. Places will be limited so booking early is recommended.
Andy Kirkpatrick will be coming along to Manchester Climbing Centre on the 26th of November to give his Cold Wars talk. Andy is one of the most accomplished British climbers of all time, and was described by Metro Magazine as “making Ray Mears look like Paris Hilton!”. This is Andy Kirkpatrick’s only tour date in Manchester, so come and find out what all the fuss is about! You can purchase tickets online HERE
